cRIO ZigBee modules extend the Compact RIO platform with wireless network functionality according to the ZigBee standard 802.15.4. This protocol allows the connection between different CompactRIO systems as well as to other ZigBee devices. Every module can act as coordination, router or end device. Modules can be addressed directly or in point to point mode. Dependent on module type data rates between 10kBit/s and 250kBit/s can be reached, with a distance range between 30m and 24km (with high gain antennas).
